Hi, I'm Julie
Julie Brown is a California girl, originally from the San Fernando Valley. At seventeen, she traveled a whole twelve miles to Westwood, specifically to UCLA. After graduating with a degree in Communications, she continued her trek south, eventually landing in Palos Verdes (near the port of Los Angeles) where she and her husband raised her two sons, rescued many dogs, hosted countless backyard BBQs, and chased away hundreds of wild peacocks. When not writing, she's doing laundry, gardening, baking, rescuing dogs, and giving her grown-up sons advice.
My path to writing:
Julie worked in advertising, office management, and non-profit administration, but being a mom was her true calling. Once the boys came along, she left the workforce to be an at-home mom and tireless volunteer. All the while, stories filled her mind.
She began by writing humorous essays based on the antics of her two young sons and her successes and failures as a mother. By the time both boys were in school, she had a regular column in a local paper and worked freelance as an editor and grant writer. Her dream, however, was to write fiction. Now, she does.

In addition to novels, Julie has written essays, plays, and even song lyrics. She can usually be found in a quiet corner of her local library working on her next book.
